Some common types of siding are illustrated. Siding is available in a variety of textures, ranging from matte surfaces to deeply embossed wood grain surfaces which simulate wood clapboard siding.
Vinyl siding is available in the following configurations:
HORIZONTAL [1] double 4"
[2] single 8"
[3] double 5"
[4] triple 3"
[5] Dutch lap.
VERTICAL
[6] Can be used in combination with horizontal siding.
Vertical is available in double 5"; triple 3"; and quad 4".
Inside Corner Post This accessory is used to provide a weather-resistant joint to an inside corner. The siding from adjoining walls fits neatly into the channels. Appropriate widths of channel openings are available to accommodate various configurations (Two J-channels installed with corners together can also be used).
Outside Corner Post A neat, weather-resistant outside corner is achieved by use of this accessory. The channels are for receiving the siding. Appropriate widths of channel openings are also available.
Vinyl Accessories Vinyl siding manufacturers have two or three sizes of j-channel and corner posts. J-channel with openings 3/8" to 1/2" are commonly used for vertical siding trim and soffit trim. With horizontal siding, J-channels with openings 3/4" to 1" are commonly used. Appropriate widths of channel openings are available to accommodate various configurations.
Trim & Moldings
A complete line of accessories is available including undersill finish trim [1], starter strip [2], J-channel [5,6,7], F-channel, frieze molding [3], drip caps [4], inserts, and trim. They are designed to give every installation a professional, finished appearance, and make all joints weather-resistant.
CAUTION
The important point to remember is to be sure to order accessories of the proper size to match the siding panels and provide a proper, snug, weatherproof fit.
